I don’t think a yearly subscription is needed nor financially interesting to most people. Categories of apps range from lifestyle to personal financing, through project management, productivity, creativity, hacks for Mac, etc… Most of the apps presented here are part of the Setapp package – on top of being available individually at a cost of course. Like with Netflix, no one will ever find interest in all 150, but quite a few of them are great. For a cost of 9.99 USD per month (less for yearly subscriptions), one gains access to more than 150 tools and applications. To resume, this is the Netflix of OsX apps. The Setapp application menu resembles the App Store main menu. I therefore found it useful to list some of my favorite ones here. Strangely enough, most of these applications are not available directly from the Apple store, and therefore require some geekiness to be discovered. In addition, some application developers worked hard to answer the few gaps that exist between OsX and Windows in an office environment. PCMag readers can get lifetime access to uBar 4 Toolbar for Mac for $15-50% off the $30 MSRP.Hello everyone! Once again, today’s post isn’t about watches but is more geeky. Are unresponsive apps or background processes slowing down your Mac? uBar makes it easy to spot which ones are and shutting them down is as easy as pressing the Shift key. If you need even more space, simply expand the bar to add up to five rows, with clear differentiation between hidden and viewable apps. There's also a rich set of customization options, such as locking the toolbar onto any side of the screen, vertically or horizontally. It allows you to squeeze in a lot more apps and offers the option of viewing them by name, icon, or both. By comparison, the uBar is slim and streamlined. The dock is pretty bulky to begin with and can quickly become more bloated-especially if you're saving a bunch of favorites or doing a lot of multitasking. One big annoyance for many dock users is its size. It's an intuitive alternative to the dock and is quickly gaining traction among high-profile engineers at tech firms like Google and Facebook.
